FRUSTRATION!
I finally had the house to myself Sunday. I set up a makeshift enclosure to keep out background noise on my AT2020 USB mic, and with the house quiet, I thought I could *FINALLY* record some voice-over demos, right? Well...THIS Sunday, everyone in the neighborhood had to be mowing their grass...and the constant low hum of the lawnmower engines is on ALL my demos. Yes, I suppose I would be able to filter out the low-frequency noise, but my big selling point is my bass-baritone voice, so whatever measures I would take would have a detrimental effect on the end result. Clearly, I am going to need to rent some studio time. So much for doing this on the cheap.

So sorry baby. So much for leaving the house so that you can record...
ReplyDelete...maybe we can get a goat and rent him out to the neighborhood so that they would never need a lawn mower.
Not a baaad idea, if I do say so myself!
Sorry to hear.
ReplyDeleteYou could've recorded the lawn mower noise first (seperately) and use that as a filter in an audio editing tool. A good tool should be able to filter just that particular sound.
Keep on going ;)
Hadn't thought of THAT one...I suppose if they would hold still long enough to record them?
